Beargrass
This unusual plant found in Glacier National Park as well as other areas of Montana is called Beargrass, although Bears don’t actually eat the plant.

Bighorn Sheep
On my recent trip I encountered several Bighorn Sheep even in a field eating the Glacier Lillies I had been photographing. This time of year most adult Mammals look very ragged, so thought I would try something to show the Bighorn without it’s ugly coat. Sure would have liked to get the entire head clear of the branches but nothing to stand on at that quick moment.

Mountain Goat
One from my recent trip to Glacier National Park.

Bull Rider
No 8 second ride for this Cowboy!

Indian Bead Work

Young Jingle Dancers
Very young “Jingle Dancers” performing at last weekends North American Indian Days in Browning, Montana.

Browning Rodeo
Browning, Montana is East of Glacier National Park and every July it hosts a Rodeo as well as the North American Indian Days PowWow. To photograph a Rodeo successfully one needs to use a high shutter speed as well as taking a burst of photos to capture the moment that shows the “action”. Photographing is the easy part, riding these broncs takes a lot of skill and toughness. I always wonder how these cowboys can take the beating week after week, they obviously really love the sport.
